Mr. Holt
(S.S. & ELA)

I have split my life between living in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania and I just moved back to the Triangle area from Pittsburgh to teach at Rolesville. I got my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Oklahoma and my Master's from the University of Pittsburgh. I have a million different hobbies and interests but some of my favorite things are playing music, watching and playing sports (especially baseball), and of course teaching! I'm very excited to join the Otters team and I can't wait to meet all of you!

Ms. Piña
(Science & Math)

Even though I was born and raised in Southern California, I have lived in many different places (Oorah!). I am an avid baseball and hockey fan and live for the sport of volleyball. I went to Indiana University for my Bachelor's and to UNCW for my Master's. I am so incredibly excited to start the new year and to meet all of you!

Mrs. Hayes (School Counselor)

I am originally from Ohio and received my Bachelor’s degree in French Education from Miami University (Ohio), followed by a Master’s degree in School Counseling at Purdue University.  I currently reside in Raleigh with my husband, Scott, and I have three daughters, Shana, Rachel, and Abigail.  I enjoy spending time with family, reading, watching movies, walking, swimming, kayaking, and learning about other cultures.  I look forward to working with the Otter team this year!

Dr. Applewhite (A.P.)

Hello!! My name is Dr. Michael A. Applewhite 7th grade assistant principal. I transitioned to RMS in 2015 from Chicago Public Schools after working to improve student and school outcomes academically for increasing impacts of graduation and college/career growth for elementary and secondary students. I have high anticipation for the upcoming school year for academic successes for all students within this awesome institution for learning. The teachers are awesome and are excited to lead their students to substantial learning opportunities, multiple modalities, interactive engagement and essential tools for personalized synchronous/asynchronous instruction.
